Hi, thanks for taking a peek. My name is Tao, the chief photographer of the studio. I take pride in creating images that are natural, artistic and thoughtful. Through the lens, I share as much excitement as do you about capturing in camera the often fleeting moments in our lives.
I am located in the North Shore town of Winnetka. Having been a long time Winnetka resident and as a parent of two school aged children, I’ve come to truly appreciate the friendliness of the people and the vibrancy of the families living in this and neighboring communities. And of course, the beaches, parks and tree-lined streets make it all the more wholesome for creating beautiful, natural and artistic images for you and your family.
I believe a photograph, especially the one that is for your family, must have the substance of life, love and laughter imbedded in it so that it will conjure the memory of a treasured moment whenever it catches your glance. This is often difficult to achieve inside a traditional studio that typically operates in a fixed location with a background. I create most portraits outdoors where kids can jump and run and everyone quickly feels at ease. It’s not necessary to say “cheese” because the moment we feel is original and true. Of course, critical timing, color, composition and exposure are always a natural component of each image.
